CIA Internal Investigation Finds Failures Pre-911

In the latest in finger pointing and name calling in Washington, the CIA’s Office of the Inspector General released a report today stating:

<blockquote>The team did find, however, failures to implement and manage important processes, to follow through with operations, and to properly share and analyze critical data.</blockquote>

Former CIA chief George Tent released a response and published in the New York Times.  Tenet points out that the CIA OIG released a somewhat glowing review in August of 2001 of the agency’s counter-terrorism efforts.  It is possible that the former CIA chief doesn’t know that September comes after August.
